Spring Break--Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (long post)

Thursday was suppose to be a rainy day and we planned an activity inside. Needless to say, it was a beautiful, bright and sunny day. Either way we still visited the American Museum of Science and Energy. The museum was celebrating it's 60th anniversary and in celebration it was 25 cent admission day.
The boys weren't quite old enough to really enjoy most things but they still managed to find a few things to enjoy. Some top things would have to be the birthday cake and liquid nitrogen ice cream; the electric balls that made their hair stand up and make them feel like evil wizards; casting multiple shadows in various colors and freezing their shadows; and the "security" passes to view actual missiles.

Friday we decided to go camping as a family. This is the first time we have ever done this, usually Jarom takes just the older boys. We weren't really equipped for the whole family so we had to start with a little shopping spree (that makes the camping all worth it). That afternoon we packed up and headed to a nearby camping spot. Jarom insisted we camp in the "Primitive" sites versus the sites near a restroom. Boys that's an easy thing to do but I could have lived with a working a bathroom. We finally found our spot and started unloading.

I might note that it didn't get quite as warm that day as the rest of the week. It was actually cold. Never a good start to camping. With all the boys hard work we gathered wood and got a great fired going. We kicked the ball around, ate goodies, played games and told stories around the campfire. Then we headed to bed. It was suppose to get down to 32 that night and it did! IT WAS COLD!!!! After some rearranging we finally all got warm.

As mentioned before it was COLD and here's Liam in all is primitive glory first thing in the morning. I couldn't resist. It was so funny.

Well you can't go camping without some excitement. Tipton "somehow" fell in the fire. It wasn't flames but mainly just the hot wood dying out. It was still HOT and fell in backwards landing on his hands burning the palm of his left hand. They were minor burns and doing just fine now. The jacket saved him from burning any other skin thank goodness. The jacket went to the garbage.

A visited a few sites around the park before heading home.

Saturday was Liam's first soccer game. This year we requested he be bumped up to U8 from U6. We wanted him to be learning a little more skill and the rules of the game. He got bumped and it was pretty intimidating at first. Liam is a fast little boy and has held his own with these guys. His competitiveness has kept him going and showing to be one of the better players. GOOO Force!!!

Hyrum's "love of his life" Hannah. He would do anything for her.

whew! what a week. but looked like tons of fun and fab family time. i would have freaked out about my child falling in the fire. even if it was just dying embers... i'm deathly afraid.
