Winter Wonderland
This winter has provided lots of excitement for our family and the South in general. I can't speak so confidently for the rest of the US, as we have seen record breaking temperatures and snowfall for this past winter.
Not long after Bret was born we were showered with a huge snow! We all know what that means. . . no school!
First it was just a little tease of snowfall (2-11-2014). It doesn't matter, it doesn't require much to cancel school when it comes to winter weather.
The last biggest snowfall we had here in the Chattanooga area was in March of 1993 aka The Blizzard of '93. Jarom hates how people always bring it up anytime snow is possibly predicted in our area. Thankfully we had our milk, bread, and gas. We were set for whatever was coming our way!
We got about a foot in some areas but most places was around seven inches. Liam was so excited he was out and playing before any of us even woke up, ca-ra-a-zy kid!
It was so beautiful that morning waking up to all this white. It was like a fairytale.
Jarom still had planned to go to work that day. . .
not going to happen. The car is actually backwards from how it came out of the garage. It was too icy for him to get out. And there was also this problem:
a snow drift that had blocked the portico. It was probably about two and half to three feet high. I guess we can thank our roof slope for that. Eventually, Jarom did make it in to work after a few hours of play time.
This was the biggest snow our boys had ever seen. Marshall was so funny trying to get through the snow. It came up to his thigh! (Okay, maybe not actually his thigh but it was deep.) They played some football in the snow with their dad and Marshall kept yelling, "I'm coming, Daddy! I'm coming!" We couldn't stop laughing.

The snow completely melted and we were back to just cold weather. Then five days later (2-16-2104) snow everywhere! The boys totaled 8 or 9 days of missed school days. Some we didn't have to make up due to it being pronounced a state of emergency.
