Being NINE is Just Fine

Hyrum hits the jackpot each year for his birthday.  School's out!

The days are warm and he can play outside all day.  Being outside is probably one of his favorite things.  There isn't hardly a day he doesn't miss this chance to ride his bike, and in the summer, swim.

This year we kept it simple.  He had his best friend, James, over to swim and hang out for the day.  The two are crazy together.  This past Spring they got to see each other every day--they saw each other at school, played soccer on Saturday together, and then at church on Sundays.  Hyrum thought it was awesome.

Hyrum changed it up a bit for his typical dessert and dinner choice.  This year he went with red velvet cake with Neapolitan ice cream and pizza for dinner.

Some of Hyrum's biggest fans!

Hyrum is fun loving boy.  He's hit the competitive stage in his life and doesn't take to losing to well.  (This has shown to be a stage in our boys' lives.)  Being outside, playing games, singing are a few of his favorite things.  Reading is by far his least favorite thing.  He is independent and is one to get up and make breakfast for himself and even others--pancakes, toast, oatmeal.

We are grateful for our freckled, red haired boy!  Sometimes he may feel overlooked being the middle child, but our family would not be the same without him!

Happy Birthday, Hyrum!
