I'm FREE (three)!

Bret is THREE
or as he says, "free."
Though by the next day he said he was six.
Kids age so fast. ;)

Bret didn't need or want anything much for his big day.  All he asked for was a pink cake with chocolate icing.  He asked for it everyday.  The oven was broken so we had to go to the neighbors to bake the cake.  Bret decided at the end to add sprinkles to the top.  It was definitely a pretty cake.  He could not WAIT to blow out the candles and eat it.

He chose chicken nuggets for his meal.  He almost fell asleep at dinner time.  WE had to move quickly so he could eat cake and open presents.  He was so excited to blow out that candle!  Finally, he gets a piece a cake.  He couldn't finish his piece.  I asked him if he liked it.  His reply, "It was horrible."  It wasn't the best cake (probably because Jarom didn't make it) but it wasn't too bad...it still got eaten by the next day.

We didn't regift this year, but I took him to the dollar tree to get some balloons and a couple of toys.  He could only think of two things he liked.  Hyrum got him a Sprite for his birthday and he LOVED that.  He wouldn't share with anybody, not even Daddy.
It is hard to believe that the baby of the family is already three.  I feel we have officially stepped into a new phase of family life.  No more babies.  It's exciting but kind of sad.  However, I am so grateful that Bret is here today as part of our family.

Bret completes this family.
He is loving, funny, quick witted (even for a three year old).
clever, easy going, smart.
He loves animals,
more specific stuffed animals,,
and jets (not just airplanes but jets).
He loves Paw Patrol
and Room On the Broom is his favorite movie.
He has quite a sweet tooth
and true love for gum.
He loves milk.
He's a grazer.
He needs AT LEAST 12 hours of sleep,
yet he hates to take naps.
He has a love-hate relationship with witches
and most things creepy.
He has no fear of most things
except when his brothers say they will put him the oven.
Cruel, I know.
He will pick up any spider, frog, worm, bug...
you name it.
He was our first to be potty trained before three and to do it himself.
That may just make him my favorite.
He loves the outdoors and riding his balance bike.
We love Bret!
