Happy Birthday Bret!!!
His birthday fell on a Sunday and he was worried it would be "so boring." He suggested we hide his presents to make it more exciting. That's just what we did.
He wanted to have lots of people over so he "could get more presents." Unfortunately for him, we kept it small and simple. Grandma and Grandpa came but Phil had been in the hospital from COVID keeping Grandmother and Papa from coming. He still got plenty of presents and had a great time!
His requested meal was hamburgers, a cheeseburger for him, served with garlic rotini pasta. For dessert, he requested a strawberry cake (this cake is amazing) and almond sugar cookies.
Bret continues to be such a light for our family. He gets along with everyone. He takes advantage of being "so loved" and the youngest. He loves playing backyard football with his brothers but hates when they argue and fight. Once, he just took the football away from them and came inside because he didn't like hearing them argue. He also has quit on a few occasions because of that reason. He told me once he didn't like the feeling it gave him when they fight.
He has a wild imagination and very creative. Though sometimes he complains of being bored, most of the time he can play by himself for hours. He is adventurous and is willing to try new things. He is a fast learner and enjoys learning and figuring things out. One thing in particular, is he is fascinated with writing his name in cursive. He thought it was amazing you could write without picking up your pencil. He practiced until he got it and now writes it that way for school.
Another thing that makes us laugh is his list of girls he likes. Right now Josie is the "hottest of the hot." He's very open about liking girls. It cracks us up. He always wants to have them over to come to play. He's such a lady's man!
It's hard to believe that Bret is now seven. It really doesn't seem that long since he was born, I still remember it clearly. We love having him in our family. Happy birthday, little guy!
