At home MTC

 It's been a little over a week.

It hasn't been a major adjustment as I feared.  We don't see Liam 90% of the day.  They keep him very busy and he is working hard to study his Spanish.

I know it's not the "real" MTC but it doesn't matter.  

It hasn't been fun for Liam, but he never shows it.  He has been dedicated to the work and been blessed with great companions.  We've tried to keep our distance and treat it as if he was gone to the physical MTC.  P-days are on Wednesday, so I try to run errands with him.  He never gets to eat meals with us except Sunday.

It is amazing though how it can transform a person.  It's been a blessing for me to be able to witness it firsthand.  Liam was a different person in his attitude and demeanor before starting his mission.  As parents, we were frustrated and worried just as he was frustrated too.  It has only strengthened my testimony of the importance of studying the scriptures.  Knowing he is spending hours each day studying about the Savior, there has been a complete 180.  He will talk to me and have conversations that would have never happened before.

The scriptures can change a person.
